My Story

My Story

My passion for photography began at the age of 12.  My journey started when I received my first camera during summer family travels, where I first learned to slow down, observe, and appreciate the beauty of the world around me.  What began as a childhood interest has remained a constant throughout my 67 years, woven through every career, hobby, and season of life.

Over the years, I have pursued careers and disciplines that demanded precision, responsibility, and respect for both people and the environments I worked in.  I spent time as a home builder, developing a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, structure, and attention to detail.  I later retired as the Chief Building Official for the City of Wichita Falls, a role grounded in public service, safety, and integrity.  Alongside this, I built a career as a commercial, multi-engine, instrument-rated corporate pilot, where discipline, situational awareness, and trust were essential every day.

Beyond my professional life, I have explored the world through pursuits that further shaped how I see and experience creation.  I am a certified advanced scuba diver, drawn to the quiet complexity beneath the surface, and an avid trap shooter, a discipline that refined focus, patience, and precision.  Through it all—on land, in the air, and underwater—photography has always remained my constant.

Guided by my faith, I approach landscape and nature photography as both an art and a form of stewardship. Each image is created with reverence for God’s creation, seeking to capture moments that reflect His majesty, balance, and intentional design. For me, photography is more than documenting a scene; it is an act of reflection and gratitude.

My work invites others to slow down, notice the details, and recognize the presence of something greater in the natural world. Every photograph I take is rooted in a lifelong love for creation and a desire to honor the Creator through the lens.
